I've been waiting over 2 months for a refund from a canceled Air India flight booked via Booking.com, and I'm completely stuck.
At first, Booking.com told me that my refund was rejected by Air India. But after I contacted Air India, they said:
Our internal team has already contacted your travel agent for your refund. Please ask your travel agent to raise a Refund Authorization (RA)."

When I went back to Booking.com, they admitted that saying "rejected" was a mistake — and reapplied. Since then I ask for status but they say that AirIndia is not processing refund. AirIndia still says they haven’t initiated the refund. Currently I am stuck in India because of this issue. This money is highly necessary for my travel due to the current situation in Middle East.

So far it's just endless back and forth: • Booking.com
says they're waiting for Air India. • Air India says they have not received the Refund Authorisation (RA)

It's been months, and no one seems to take responsibility. And I have seen similar reports on internet from other customers facing the same issue. I need my money back as soon as possible.
Its 1415 AED in total.

Hello @bernadineks

We carefully reviewed your complaint regarding the refund delay issue with Booking.com and prepared this summary to ensure we understood your concerns correctly.

As per your complaint, you had made a booking through Booking.com and later became eligible for a refund after cancellation. However, despite repeated follow-ups and assurances from customer support, the refund amount has allegedly remained pending for nearly two months.

You mentioned that you continuously contacted the company regarding the status of the refund but did not receive any clear resolution or proper update about the delay. Due to the prolonged waiting period and lack of satisfactory support, you faced financial inconvenience and mental stress while trying to recover your money.

We are outlining the first step to be taken before filing a case in the Consumer Forum.

Please follow the steps mentioned below. If you have already contacted the Booking.com customer care via email (customer.service@booking.com, customer.care@booking.com) and and request to process the complete Refund + Compensation.

If they already refunded the amount and provided you the reference number but the amount is not reflecting in your account, please contact your bank or payment provider.

This step not only gives the Booking.com a chance to refund but also helps strengthen your case if you decide to file a complaint with the Consumer Forum later.

Please wait for a reasonable time for their response. If they do not respond or fail to resolve the matter satisfactorily, feel free to reach out to us again. When you do, kindly include a copy of your email to them and any response (if received), so we can guide you on the next steps.

Best regards,
Thanks
