Dear Sir/Madam,
Dear Sir/Madam,
Good evening.
I am writing to seek your kind intervention regarding a complaint I raised with Airtel concerning the relocation of my Wi-Fi connection from one room to another within the same premises.
I raised the relocation request on 13 August 2026. However, despite repeated follow-ups, until 3 September 2026, I did not receive any proper response or resolution from Airtel.
When I initially requested the relocation of my existing Wi-Fi connection, I repeatedly contacted Airtel customer care through 121. Unfortunately, the representatives I spoke with were unable to provide a proper solution or assign my request to the appropriate technical team.
At one stage, I received an SMS containing the details of a technical engineer. However, when I contacted the engineer, I was informed that they were responsible for landline fibre connections and not Airtel AirFiber connections, and I was advised to call 121 again. I followed this instruction several times, but the matter remained unresolved.
During my repeated calls with Airtel customer-care and senior representatives, I was given different explanations. Some representatives informed me that the location was not feasible for network service, while another stated that the network was not available in the area.
I could not understand how the feasibility of the requested relocation could be confirmed without any proper physical inspection, testing or technical assessment. My request was only to shift the existing connection approximately 9 metres within the same premises, at the same height, from the corner area towards the middle of my home. It was not a request to establish a connection at a completely new location.
Unfortunately, instead of resolving this simple relocation request, an Airtel representative eventually visited my residence and removed the existing device/equipment from its original location. I was informed that another technical team would subsequently visit to complete the installation at the new location. However, no technical team has visited and the installation has not been completed to date.
I have spent considerable time contacting Airtel customer care and explaining the same issue repeatedly. Unfortunately, the responses provided by different representatives, including senior representatives, were inconsistent and did not provide a practical solution. This has caused me considerable inconvenience and frustration.
Due to the prolonged delay and the unsatisfactory manner in which my request has been handled, I have now decided that I no longer wish to continue with Airtel Wi-Fi service. I have therefore requested Airtel to arrange collection of all their equipment from my residence and cancel my Wi-Fi connection with immediate effect.
However, despite my request, I have not received any official confirmation from Airtel confirming the cancellation of my service.
My Airtel Wi-Fi/service reference is 0573224798184_WIFI.
I therefore respectfully request the Department of Consumer Affairs to kindly look into this matter and intervene to ensure that Airtel:
I believe customers should receive proper, transparent and timely assistance, particularly when making a straightforward request such as relocating an existing connection within the same premises. The repeated transfer of responsibility between different teams and the inconsistent information provided by customer-care representatives made it extremely difficult to obtain a clear resolution.
I also respectfully request the Department to provide suitable guidance to Airtel to improve its customer-service and complaint-handling procedures so that other customers do not face similar difficulties in the future, considering the large number of Airtel customers across India.
I am ready to provide the relevant complaint/request numbers, SMS communications, screenshots, call details and other supporting documents, if required.
I look forward to your kind intervention and a fair and timely resolution of this matter.
Thank you for your time and support.
Yours faithfully,
Altaf Mohammed
