Respected Sir/Madam,
I, Divyesh S. Sutaria, residing in Vadodara, Gujarat, wish to lodge a formal complaint against Flipkart Internet Pvt. Ltd. regarding misleading exchange practices and procedural lapses during the exchange of my old mobile phone for a new purchase.
Details of the Transaction:
• New Mobile Ordered: Motorola Edge 60 Fusion 5G (PANTONE Amazonite, 256 GB)
• Platform: Flipkart (Order link: https://dl.flipkart.com/s/XAbl3xNNNN)
• Old Mobile for Exchange: Realme 8i• Model: RMX3151
• RAM/ROM: 4GB/64GB
• IMEI1: 862490051397255
• IMEI2: 862490051397248
• Date of Manufacture: 13-Dec-2021
• Color: Space Purple
• S/N: UCDFDUQGSKL7RT8
Nature of Complaint:
1. On the first visit by Flipkart’s exchange personnel (two days prior to this complaint), I was informed that only ₹1200 would be deducted from the exchange value due to minor wear.
2. However, on the second visit today, the deduction was suddenly increased to ₹2500 without any valid explanation or prior notice.
3. The Flipkart representative who came for the exchange did not present any official Flipkart employee ID or government-issued identification, raising serious concerns about verification and consumer safety.
4. This inconsistent and opaque valuation process violates fair trade practices and causes financial and mental distress to consumers.
Relief Sought:
• A transparent and fair reassessment of the exchange value for my Realme 8i mobile.
• An explanation and accountability for the sudden change in deduction amount.
• Assurance that Flipkart representatives will carry and present valid identification during future visits.
• Compensation for inconvenience and mental harassment caused due to misleading and unprofessional conduct.
I request the Hon’ble Forum to take cognizance of this matter and initiate appropriate proceedings against Flipkart Internet Pvt. Ltd. for violation of consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
