I work in a rented shop in Panchsheel Hynish Shopping Complex, where the maintenance team, on behalf of the Panchsheel Hynish Apartment Owners Association (AoA) has been sending me maintenance invoices that I was paying regularly.
Since the past three months, as soon as I had gotten a new prepaid electricity meter installed, I found out via the meter company's app, that the maintenance team is already deducting Rs 107.30 daily (Rs 3219 monthly) as "Essential Maintenance Services" (Screenshot attached). Upon questioning the maintenance team, their manager told me that this maintenance amount will be deductible from the meter now, and I need not pay additional maintenance. If I receive any reminders from the NoBrokerHood app (which we use to make the maintenance payment), I should just ignore it. This was only a verbal statement by him, and he refused to give this statement to me in writing. I wrote a formal complaint regarding the same, which he again refused to receive officially. Regardless, I mailed the same complaint to the Panchsheel Hynish AoA email address, which was not acknowledged and till date I have not received a reply.
As expected, against what was said to me, I was again sent a reminder to make the monthly maintenance payment on 19th August 2025. If I don't pay, the balance will keep accumulating, and I am threatened that I may receive a penalty.
So in essence, I am charged maintenance fee via the electric meter, and in addition, I have to pay Rs 3327 every month. This is a massive fraud happening in Panchsheel Hynish, and the AoA is not getting NPCL meters installed, just to scam the residents and the shopkeepers to keep paying double maintenance fees.
The actual maintenance done in the shopping complex is minimal. The staircases are dirty, there is a broken steel railing thrown atop the shopping complex roof which has been untouched since months, and there is waterlogging every time it rains. The society is a mess, the AoA is corrupt, and they are blatantly extorting money out of the shopkeepers on a monthly basis.
