The request is that I am Ashok Kumar son of Shri Suraj Bhan, permanent resident of village Bhaupur, Tehsil Israna, District Panipat, my complaint is against State Bank of India, on 4th December 2018 at 6:19 am the bank informed me through email that my Rs. 7900/- has been held due to fear of cyber crime, but the very next day I got a call from the bank that I should complete the KYC of my account, your hold will be removed, but even after my KYC was completed my hold was not removed and the bank manager said that your hold will not be removed until an email comes from Cyber Cell Office Bangalore, when Hodal Bank has put a hold on my account then it is the responsibility of the bank to tell me why they have put the hold, but the bank is not giving me any answer to this. If all my transaction details are completely correct, then why was my account held? I emailed all the officials of State Bank of India, but no one responded. The problem is not solved. Every time I close the complaint, I get a call asking for feedback and they ask me to contact my branch. I have visited the branch many times and I cannot tell you how many times I called or emailed, but till date there has been no solution.

Hello @ASHOK

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you've encountered with the ₹7,900 hold on your State Bank of India (SBI) account. Based on the details you've provided, it appears that the hold was placed due to concerns related to cybercrime, and despite completing the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, the issue remains unresolved. Let's explore the steps you can take to address this situation effectively.

🧾 Summary of Your Complaint

  • Complainant: Ashok Kumar, resident of Bhaupur, Tehsil Israna, District Panipat
  • Bank Branch: SBI NIFTEM Campus, Kundli, Sonipat, Haryana (Plot No. 97, Sector 56, Kundli – 131028)
  • Issue: On December 4, 2018, SBI informed you via email that ₹7,900 was held due to suspected cybercrime. The following day, you were advised to complete KYC to lift the hold. Despite completing KYC, the hold persists, with the branch manager stating that it will remain until an email is received from the Cyber Cell Office in Bangalore. Multiple attempts to seek clarification and resolution from the bank have been unsuccessful.

📞 Immediate Actions to Take

  • Document All Communications: Maintain a detailed record of all interactions with the bank, including dates, times, names of officials spoken to, and summaries of discussions. This documentation will be crucial if legal action becomes necessary.
  • Send a Legal Notice: Send a Legal Notice addressed to the bank's grievance redressal officer, detailing the issue and requesting immediate resolution. Send this via registered post, ensuring you have proof of delivery.
