Respected Sir/Madam,
I, Ramesh Chander Sharma, resident of House Number 1081, Sector 79, SAS NAGAR Mohali, Punjab, 140308, wish to lodge a formal complaint against Harmony Honda Dealership (Joshi Automotives Pvt Ltd), Plot Number C-107, Industrial Area, Phase-7, Mohali, SAS Nagar, Punjab for unfair trade practices and denial of advertised benefits.
On 08/10/2025, I purchased a Honda Amaze CVT i-VTEC top model from the above dealership after seeing an advertisement in Amar Ujala newspaper dated 05/10/2025 and 12/10/2025. The advertisement clearly mentioned two promotional offers:
Scratch & Win Assured Gift Bumper Prize – ₹2 Lakh Gold Voucher
Free 7-Year Unlimited Kilometer Warranty
While the dealership eventually provided the assured gift voucher after multiple escalations to Honda’s customer care, they refused to honor the Free 7-Year Unlimited KM Warranty, claiming no such offer was valid. They insisted that the warranty was chargeable and its cost would depend on the date of purchase.
I presented documented proof including:
Copies of the newspaper advertisements
Honda’s official announcement regarding the warranty offer
Communication records with the dealership and Honda call center
Despite this, the dealership denied the warranty benefit, causing me mental distress and financial disadvantage. Honda’s official announcement confirms that the 7-Year Unlimited KM Warranty was applicable to variants of the Amaze, City, and Elevate models purchased within the offer period.
This constitutes:
Misleading advertisement
Denial of promised benefits
Unfair trade practice under Section 2(1)(r) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019
Relief Sought:
Immediate issuance of the Free 7-Year Unlimited KM Warranty as advertised
Compensation for mental agony and inconvenience
Any other relief deemed appropriate by the Hon’ble Commission
