I’ve been to 40+ countries and this is easily the worst accommodation I have ever experienced. I got food poisoning immediately from the restaurant and it took a week to recover. As soon as I started eating elsewhere, my symptoms went away. The rooms are dusty and full of black mould. Pictures attached below. Power cuts as well as water cuts are frequent. Wifi is non-existent. The staff have contempt for their guests, often ignoring requests for clean towels or clean rooms. One staff member asked a woman ‘are you stupid?’ to her face. Between the food poisoning, lack of hygiene and the attitude of staff, it is clear why India is known as the scam capital of the World. It costs between 500 and 700 usd to attend the school per student. 20 students per class. 15.000 usd in revenue per class. They don’t even hire cleaners. Days are 13 hours +, 6 days a week. It is mostly looking at the teachers back, while they write on the board. 1950’s style rote learning. Some aspects of the place are beautiful, for example.. The nature and animals. But overall, for the money we pay, and the service provided, I would take my money elsewhere. So, this is just a warning to other travellers. Beware of the realities of what you are getting into. Easily a 1 star experience. If you complain, they will tell you it’s a ‘miscommunication’. They will tell you ‘we are a family’ (red flag). They gaslight you into thinking it’s your fault and you will get ‘bad karma’ for telling the truth. The reviews from years ago say the exact same thing. The staff never listen and take action, this is why it remains a terrible accommodation. It is extremely stressful to be made sick by mould and the food. There is a prevalent attitude of “This is India’, so nobody ever tries to improve. Easily, the most obnoxious, horrible human beings I have had the misfortune of meeting. India is the land that manners and hospitality have forgotten. All they care about is the money brought by foreigners and about the image of the school. One of their bully tactics is to threaten people with being expelled if they complain. If I can let one person know of the realities before they arrive, this review will be worth it.Edit: I can confirm the team met with me. They threatened to expel me if I didn’t remove my 1 star review (bully tactics). Hence, there is no real desire for improvement, only protection of the schools image so they can take advantage of more and more westerner’s. They realized they had leverage over me in that moment, but not anymore. The staff were so intent on being toxic bullies that they disregarded every point using pathetic excuses (see comment section). With regard to the room, I had to buy my own food and water because of the food poisoning. I can add screenshots from the group chat of everyone in the class being poisoned after meals at the school. I have nothing to gain from telling the truth, except protecting future customers from a horrible 1 star experience. I have no ill will, I just don’t want others to go through that.*pictures don’t lie guys. This is exactly how the rooms are when you arrive. They respond to every comment with slander instead of fixing the problems. It’s the same stuff from 2 years ago. Choose a different school. Save yourself a month of genuine misery. It is basic rights to have power, water, food that doesn’t make you sick and water that doesn’t poison you. People made complaints that you couldn’t breathe in the rooms because of the mould. Rohit shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘that’s the weather, this is India’. That is the attitude. It gave some people rashes on their skin and acne on their face. Nobody is looking for a 5 star hotel, but this is another level. Clean the rooms so people aren’t getting literally poisoned. Listen to feedback instead of fighting constantly with everyone for four weeks.Practice what you preach. Don’t pollute the rivers next door. Treat people with basic dignity. Don’t use lower caste slaves (man in orange sash). Don’t call people ‘stupid’. Don’t stop caring after you get people’s money.
