Respected Sir/Madam,
My name is Sarover Singh, holder of Star Health Insurance Policy No. P211218/01/2026/000339. I am writing this letter to lodge a formal complaint regarding the unjust rejection of my medical claim and the mental and financial harassment faced by me and my family.
My wife was suffering from severe body ache and continuous fever for 7–8 days. Due to her worsening condition, the MD Doctor at Prolife Hospital advised emergency admission. After medical examination, the Vidal test report was found positive, and she was admitted for treatment.
The total medical expense for 24 hours of hospitalization was ₹17,000, which I paid directly to Prolife Hospital. Despite submitting all required medical documents and hospital records, Star Health Insurance denied my claim, stating that hospitalization was “not required” in this case.
I strongly object to this reasoning, as the admission was done strictly on medical advice by a qualified MD doctor under emergency conditions. As a common policyholder, I trusted Star Health to support me during medical emergencies, but instead, I faced denial and harassment.
In addition to hospitalization expenses, I had to continue treatment from private doctors, incurring an additional cost of approximately ₹20,000. Thus, the total medical expense borne by me is ₹37,000, excluding the mental stress and inconvenience caused.
I humbly request you to:
Reconsider and approve my claim of ₹37,000, and
Provide compensation for mental harassment and inconvenience caused due to wrongful claim rejection.
I request your kind intervention and a fair resolution at the earliest. If the issue is not resolved, I will be compelled to escalate the matter to the Insurance Ombudsman and IRDAI.
Thanking you in anticipation of your cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
Sarover Singh
