Looking for support: Vivanta Pune Hinjawadi || 14 December post wedding party
Hello,
My post wedding party is conducted at taj vivanta on 14 Dec and i am unable to understand the below licensing part.
According to Section 52 of the Copyright Act, 1957, no licence is required for playing music at bona fide religious ceremonies, which includes marriage processions and social festivities associated with a marriage. This means that hotels cannot legally demand music licences for wedding events unless the event falls outside the scope of a religious or social ceremony (e.g., corporate events or ticketed shows)
I have been forced to pay this amount
I request your office to kindly investigate this matter and help. me understand if this practice is right.
I spoke with hotel authorities and license authorities and answer ls were not very comprehensive.
These charges not only burden families during important life events but also violate consumer rights and legal provisions.
