Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally escalate a serious violation and unlawful act committed by representatives of HDFC Bank in relation to my vehicle loan account mentioned above.
On Dec 12th 2025, my vehicle was forcibly recovered/seized by individuals claiming to represent HDFC Bank without any prior notice, repossession intimation, or court order. At no point was I served:
This act amounts to illegal repossession, harassment, and violation of RBI Fair Practice Code, Supreme Court guidelines, and SARFAESI norms.
This recovery is in direct violation of:
No bank or recovery agent is permitted to seize a vehicle without due process of law, including proper notice and legal authorization.
I hereby demand the following actions within 48 hours:

Details of the Incident
On Dec 12th 2025, my vehicle was forcibly recovered/seized by individuals claiming to represent HDFC Bank without any prior notice, repossession intimation, or court order. At no point was I served:

- A loan recall notice
- Any court-approved recovery order
- A recovery letter or authorization
This act amounts to illegal repossession, harassment, and violation of RBI Fair Practice Code, Supreme Court guidelines, and SARFAESI norms.
Regulatory & Legal Violations
This recovery is in direct violation of:
- RBI Guidelines on Recovery Agents
- Fair Practices Code for Lenders
- Supreme Court judgments prohibiting forceful recovery
- Article 21 – Right to Life & Dignity
- Consumer Protection Act, 2019
No bank or recovery agent is permitted to seize a vehicle without due process of law, including proper notice and legal authorization.
My Immediate Demands
I hereby demand the following actions within 48 hours:
- Immediate return of my vehicle in its original condition
- Written explanation with supporting documents authorizing the recovery
- Details of the recovery agency and agents involved
- Compensation for mental harassment, inconvenience, and loss
Failure to Comply
If the above is not resolved immediately, I will be constrained to:
- File a formal complaint with the RBI Banking Ombudsman
- Approach the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission
- Initiate criminal and civil legal proceedings against HDFC Bank and the recovery agents involved
- Escalate the matter on official regulatory and legal platforms
