I sold my old Hyundai Creta car on Cars24 platform on 1-Mar-25. It’s now 5.5 months and still the RC ownership hasn’t been transferred by Cars24. Customer care isn’t helpful and gives vague and shifting timelines.have escalated to their CEO Vikram Chopra as well on his email as well as twitter but no traction. Request id raised with them is 2004469
 
  • Rule 55(3) & 55A of CMVR + Sec 50 of MV Act → Transfer of ownership must be reported to the RTO within 14 daysof sale.
  • Until RC is transferred, the seller is legally liable for challans, accidents, or misuse.
  • Cars24, acting as an intermediary, is responsible to ensure transfer as per their seller agreement.

If they are not responding to your emails, we suggest you to file a case against them in the Consumer Forum.
