I placed an order worth ₹12,870 with Chatpate Tops on 28 February 2025 after being assured timely delivery. What followed was months of delays, ignored messages, poor communication, quality issues, and an unresolved dispute that continues even today.
For nearly four months, I have been forced to repeatedly follow up regarding an order that was fully paid for in advance. I sent messages, emails, reminders, consumer complaints, and even attempted legal action, yet I continued to be ignored for long periods. As a customer, I felt as though I was being forced to repeatedly plead for updates regarding my own order and my own money.
The seller failed to deliver within the promised timeline, provided inadequate communication, and delivered a product that raised quality concerns. The occasion for which the order was purchased passed long ago because of these delays.
A partial refund of ₹6,229 was issued, but the remaining ₹6,641 continues to be withheld. Even after months of dispute, follow-ups, and complaints, I was recently informed that I would be required to pay an additional ₹500 shipping charge in order to receive the remaining products. I do not consider this fair, as the dispute arose due to delays, quality concerns, and communication failures from the seller's side.
What has been most upsetting is the complete lack of urgency and accountability shown throughout this matter. Despite repeated complaints and evidence, there appeared to be little concern for the inconvenience, financial loss, stress, and emotional distress caused to me. As a consumer, I felt powerless and unheard despite exhausting every available avenue to seek a resolution.
At this stage, I no longer wish to receive the products. The purpose for which they were purchased has long passed, and I have lost confidence in the seller's ability to provide a fair and reliable service.
I seek:
1. Immediate refund of the remaining ₹6,641.
2. Compensation for the mental harassment, inconvenience, time, and financial loss suffered over several months.
3. Appropriate action against the seller for deficiency in service, unfair trade practices, delayed delivery, poor communication, and failure to resolve the dispute despite repeated complaints.
The seller's Instagram business account has since been deactivated/suspended. The only available details currently known to me are the seller's email address and UPI payment information. I am submitting this complaint so that appropriate action may be taken and other consumers do not face a similar experience.
