I, Sumaila was allotted a seat in the BPT programme through CPET counselling under Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University.

On 12/08/2025, I visited Kailash Institute of Nursing & Paramedical to complete admission formalities. The staff behaved rudely and stated that wearing a burkha inside the campus was “not allowed” and must be removed outside before entry.

I explained that I would follow the prescribed dress code for classes after admission and change in the washroom, but they refused to proceed unless the burkha was removed outside the premises.

This discriminatory behaviour caused me humiliation and mental distress. I had already paid ₹40,000 towards admission (proof attached). Since they denied admission after taking payment, this amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Reliefs sought:
  1. Direct the Opposite Parties to refund ₹40,000 with 12% interest from the date of payment till realisation.
  2. Award compensation of ₹2,00,000 for mental harassment, humiliation, and violation of rights.
  3. Award the costs of litigation

Please note: In many collages and universities burkha inside the campus is not allowed, any you need to follow the guidelines.
