Subject: Request for Refund for Partially Confirmed Train Ticket (PNR 2142698219) — Non-Automatic Cancellation Despite Paytm Policy
Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to file a complaint regarding the non-receipt of a refund for a partially confirmed train ticket booked through Paytm for a journey from Delhi to Ludhiana. The details of the booking are as follows:

Date of Booking: 26th September

Journey Route: Delhi to Ludhiana

Number of Passengers: 3

PNR Number: 2142698219

Mode of Booking: Paytm (IRCTC linked service)

According to the Paytm Travel Policy, in the case of a partially confirmed e-ticket, the tickets for waitlisted passengers are automatically cancelled, and the respective fare is refunded automatically without the need for filing a TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt).

However, despite my ticket being partially confirmed (with some passengers remaining waitlisted), I was informed by IRCTC that a TDR must be filed in order to claim the refund. This is in contradiction to the policy displayed on Paytm’s platform at the time of booking.

I have not received any refund to date, even though the journey has already passed and the waitlisted passengers did not travel. This has caused unnecessary inconvenience and financial loss.

I kindly request your good office to:

Initiate the refund for the cancelled/waitlisted passengers as per the Paytm refund policy.

Clarify the discrepancy between Paytm’s stated policy and the IRCTC procedure communicated to passengers.

Take necessary action to ensure that such inconsistencies are not repeated for future customers.

I will enclose the relevant booking details, screenshots of the Paytm policy (if required), and the communication with IRCTC for your reference, if needed.

I request you to please process my refund at the earliest.
