I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a defective LED television purchased on 19th July, 2023 from Vishal Sales, Dehradun.
As per the invoice (No. A/0379/2022-23 dated 19 July 2023), I purchased LED-55AU7600KXXL (55-inch LED TV) for ₹54,000. The invoice copy is (enclosed for your reference).
Recently, in the month of February, 2026, the television developed a major defect wherein the display has stopped functioning completely, and only partial audio is available. The issue has rendered the product unusable for its intended purpose. Upon contacting Samsung local service centre team, I was informed that the warranty period has expired, period of warranty could not be clarified by the team and that the repair cost would be approximately ₹36000.00. Later i dropped a complaint to support.india@samsung.com (official customer care e-mail) on 23.02.2026 and subsequently sent a reminder on 01.03.2026, but as on date i have not received any reply from Samsung in this regard via e-mail. On 03.03.2026, i contacted Samsung customer care by phone on their toll free number but there also i got reply that repair cost would be around ₹33000.00 (which will be as much as purchasing a new decent LED TV).
However, considering the following factors:
• The product has suffered a critical hardware failure within a reasonable product life cycle
• The cost of repair is disproportionately high relative to product age
• The defect appears to be a panel/display failure not attributable to misuse
I request your kind intervention for one of the following resolutions:
