Dear Consumer Court,

I am writing this mail to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the recent experience I had with Saffron Naturopathy and research Institute I believe it is important to bring this matter to your attention in the hope that it can be resolved promptly and prevent similar issues in the future.



On April 2023 I Kushal Bedh had enrolled for a distant PHD Course in Alternative system of medicine offered by Saffron Naturopathy and research Institute it is a 3 year course Apr2023 to 2026 the cost of the course is 55k which the institute insisted in the first month itself after paying the whole fees there was only initial lectures and after a month there were no lectures done. We were not even guided through the study material and thesis writing. The insitiute conducted 2 examinations till date 1st of Jul 2024 and 2nd on 23rd Apr 2025 over google forms which I have submitted after that we got calls from different staff members demanding extra fees of rs 15380 saying I have not written the exams. Please find attached the proof of the screenshots of the exams that I have written.



I also had a conversation with them multiple times regarding the same but they denied the same. The Head of the department also uses foul and disrespected language over the phone and on the day of the visit we had on 3rd Feb 2026.



The institute now denies any refund of fees also has not answered any multiple mails to them over this issues. Now the Initiute head says we are not an institute and only a foundation.

We have carefully reviewed the details of your complaint against Saffron Naturopathy and Research Institute, Borivali, Mumbai.

As per your submission, in April 2023 you enrolled in a 3-year Distance PhD Course in Alternative System of Medicine offered by the institute, for which you paid the full course fee of ₹55,000 in the very first month itself, as insisted by the institute.

Following the initial few lectures, all academic activity came to a complete halt. You were not provided with any study material guidance or support for thesis writing throughout the course duration. The institute conducted only two examinations over the entire 3-year period — one in July 2024 and another in April 2025 — both conducted via Google Forms. You duly submitted both examinations. Despite this, the institute subsequently contacted you through different staff members demanding an additional fee of ₹15,380, falsely claiming that you had not appeared for the exams, for which you have screenshot proof of submission.

Further, when you visited the institute on February 3, 2026 to resolve the matter in person, the Head of Department used foul and disrespectful language towards you. All emails sent to the institute regarding these issues have gone unanswered, and the institute has outrightly refused any refund. Adding to the gravity of the matter, the institute head has now claimed that they are not an institute but merely a foundation, raising serious questions about the legitimacy of the course and the degree being offered.

You are seeking a refund of your fees of ₹55,000 along with appropriate action against the institute.
