The complainant had booked an international flight itinerary with IndiGo Airlines for travel from Chennai to Helsinki on 15 January 2026 via Mumbai and Amsterdam. Due to an operational delay in the flight from Mumbai to Amsterdam operated by the opposite party (IndiGo Airlines), the complainant missed the connecting flight from Amsterdam to Helsinki, which formed part of the planned journey.

As a direct consequence of the delay caused by the opposite party, the complainant suffered financial loss, inconvenience, and disruption of travel plans. The complainant was compelled to incur additional expenses for rebooking onward travel, including train tickets from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, and other related costs.

Despite the delay being attributable to the airline, the opposite party failed to provide adequate assistance or compensation for the losses suffered. The actions of the opposite party amount to clear deficiency in service and negligence, causing financial loss and mental harassment to the complainant.

The complainant therefore seeks reimbursement of the additional expenses incurred due to the missed connection, along with appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and mental agony caused by the deficiency in service on the part of IndiGo Airlines.

We recommend that you first Send a detailed email toIndigo Nodal Officer nodalofficer@goindigo.in outlining your issue, including PNR details and any previous correspondence and request to Refund.

If not received any reply from the Ingigo support team, escalate the issue with Appellate Authority at appellateauthority@goindigo.in

If they already refunded the amount and provided you the reference number but the amount is not reflecting in your account, please contact your bank or payment provider.

This step not only gives the Ingigo a chance to refund but also helps strengthen your case if you decide to file a complaint with the Consumer Forum later.
