I, Dhwani Kapadia, had booked the following flights through MakeMyTrip:

  • Mumbai to Bangkok on 5th December (VietJet)
  • Phuket to Mumbai on 12th December
After making the bookings, I received a message from MakeMyTrip stating that both bookings were unsuccessful. I have a screenshot of this message, which clearly mentions that the payment would be refunded within the next 7 days.

Based on this communication from MakeMyTrip, I believed that my bookings had failed. Since I had to proceed with my travel plans, I immediately booked the same flights through another website.

However, MakeMyTrip later marked the original bookings as confirmed without informing me appropriately. As a result, I ended up paying for duplicate flight bookings, causing me a financial loss of approximately ₹70,000.

Despite the fact that I acted solely on the basis of MakeMyTrip's communication regarding the failed bookings, the company is refusing to accept responsibility for the loss or provide an appropriate resolution.

I request that MakeMyTrip acknowledge its error and compensate me for the financial loss caused due to its incorrect booking status notification and failure to provide accurate information in a timely manner.
