Dear Sir,
I am writing to bring to your attention the challenges I have faced in processing my insurance claim.
On 18th November 2024, at 8:30 PM, I was involved in an accident while riding my motorcycle, a TVS Apache 160 with registration number HP53C2933 which I bought on loan case. The next day, on 19th November 2024, I submitted my bike to the TVS agency at Thakurdwara, Tehsil Palampur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, for repair and claim processing. The agency charged me ₹5000 for handling my documentation file for claim process.
Unfortunately, the agency demonstrated a lack of responsibility and failed to contact or update me about my claim. After 10 days of no communication, I had to visit the agency myself, where I was informed that I needed to personally submit the file. Consequently, I traveled to Kangra, approximately 40 kilometers away, to submit the file to the concerned office.
After a few days, I contacted the insurance company (ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Limited) to follow up, only to be informed that my file had not yet reached their office and would take another 10–15 days. Later, I received a call from the insurance company requesting a meeting. When I inquired about the location, they instructed me to visit the agency. However, upon further follow-up, the representative informed me that my claim could not be processed.
When I asked for the reason, they claimed that the details I provided about the accident were inaccurate. Despite providing all necessary identity proofs and explaining my injuries (to my chest and leg), they insisted on a partial settlement, offering only 70% of the claim amount while asking me to cover the remaining 30%.I am financially not so strong that I can bear 30% by my own.
Given that my policy includes bumper-to-bumper insurance, I questioned the benefit of such coverage if I had to bear additional expenses. The representatives ignored my concerns and provided no resolution or assurance. When I mentioned my intent to approach the Consumer Court for justice, they responded rudely, stating, "Go, we don’t care."
I have repeatedly followed up with the insurance company over the past 37 days, only to be met with delays, false assurances, and unprofessional behavior. This situation clearly reflects negligence and non-cooperation on their part.
I request you to thoroughly investigate this matter and ensure that I receive the justice and resolution I deserve.
The handwritten application has been enclosed for your consideration which was told by Insurance representative to write at that time
Please investigate on this matter thoroughly..Due to Insurane company I am suffering all this and am mentally stressed now due to this.
Yours sincerely,
Amit Kumar
