Title: Extremely Disappointed with PlanetSpark – Refund Denied Despite Early Request and Pre-Enrollment Assurances
I am sharing my experience so that other parents can make an informed decision before enrolling their children with PlanetSpark.
In good faith, I enrolled my daughter, Vihana Baid, in PlanetSpark’s online public speaking program after multiple discussions with their counsellor. Before making the payment, I clearly asked what would happen if my daughter did not enjoy the classes or was unable to continue.
I was assured that there would be an initial observation period and that if we decided to discontinue during that time, we would only be charged for the classes attended, and the remaining amount would be refunded. Based on these assurances, I trusted the company and paid ₹1,05,000.
Unfortunately, after attending only a few classes, it became evident that the program was not suitable for my daughter. She has a demanding day-boarding school schedule, and despite our sincere efforts, she was neither comfortable with nor interested in continuing the online classes.
Understanding this, we requested a refund within the very first week itself. We did not continue using the service for months and then ask for our money back. We informed PlanetSpark immediately after realising that the program was not the right fit.
To my surprise, my refund request has now been rejected on the grounds that my reason is “not valid.”
I fail to understand how a child’s inability or unwillingness to continue an online learning program can be considered an invalid reason. Every child learns differently, and no educational company should expect every child to adapt to the same teaching format.
What is even more disappointing is that the assurances given before enrollment seem to have been completely disregarded. Had I been informed that refunds would not be considered despite early cancellation, I would never have enrolled my daughter.
₹1,05,000 is a substantial amount for our family. This is not a small purchase that parents can simply ignore. We trusted the company’s representatives and made the payment based on the information provided to us.
After my experience, I searched online and found several parents sharing similar concerns regarding refund issues. Reading those experiences has made me feel that my case may not be an isolated one.
I am still hoping PlanetSpark will review my case fairly and honour the commitment that was made before enrollment.
I am posting this not to discourage learning, but to encourage transparency. I would strongly advise parents to:
* Get every promise regarding refunds or cancellation in writing.
* Read the refund policy carefully before making any payment.
* Avoid relying solely on verbal assurances during counselling calls.
I sincerely hope PlanetSpark resolves my grievance and treats customers fairly.
