Under policy no. 99639253110049393 claim denied for Engine Protector (Provides coverage to internal parts of engine, gearbox, transmission assembly and differential assembly due to ingress of water or leakage of lubricating oil)
company harrassed with the following statement.
As discussed over the call with Mr. Bijoy Adhikari, it was stated that the claim “may not be admissible” due to an alleged aging issue.
However, earlier, as discussed with Mr. Rahul Thakur, it was stated that the issue was being considered only from an accidental perspective. The basis has now changed to an aging issue. In view of this change, kindly clarify the reason for the change in assessment and the basis on which the insurer is now considering the claim under aging. We request the insurer to provide a consistent and clearly documented position regarding the claim.
In this regard, kindly clarify the specific policy wording or clause relating to aging under which the claim is being considered inadmissible, as we are unable to identify any such exclusion or condition in the policy wording.
If the insurer has concerns regarding the admissibility of the claim, we request that a clear and definitive decision be provided rather than using tentative terms such as “may not be admissible.”
I have already submitted the required supporting documents and clarification regarding the claim circumstances. Further, as per the insurer’s portal and the applicable policy wording, mechanical failure with oil leakage is indicated as a payable claim.
Accordingly, kindly clarify the basis on which the claim is being questioned/rejected based on the photographs forwarded by the service centre, particularly when the said photographs were recently taken on 12/09/2026. Kindly clarify how these recent photographs establish an aging-related issue or support the basis for considering the claim inadmissible.
Further, as discussed with the workshop, they have confirmed that there was no issue at the time of service from their side. The vehicle subsequently covered more than 2,000 km without any such issue occurring. In view of this, kindly clarify the technical basis on which the present failure is being attributed to an aging issue. If the insurer has any specific technical evidence or assessment supporting this conclusion, kindly share the same.
Since the workshop/service centre is also marked in CC, we request them to provide any further technical clarification required regarding the maintenance history, mechanical failure, oil leakage, or cause of failure. If any additional clarification or technical report is required, kindly coordinate with the workshop directly.
In view of the above, kindly obtain a revised and clear update from the insurer, specifically confirming:
