Dear NCH officer,
I am filing this consumer grievance against Pomygranate Technologies Private Limited (Truww) regarding the refusal to refund my ₹50,000 token advance despite my cancellation being communicated within the stipulated period mentioned in the project quotation.
I approached Truww Interiors for interior design and execution services and paid a token advance of ₹50,000 on 13 August 2026 at 8:37 PM.
The project quotation issued by Truww contained a specific Cancellation and Scope Change Policy, under which the token advance was stated to be refundable where a valid competitor quotation was shared within 24 hours and Truww was unable to match the pricing.
I received a competitive quotation from another interior company, Homz Interio, and communicated my decision to cancel and proceed with the alternative vendor to Truww on 14 August 2026 at 12:00 PM.
Therefore, my cancellation request was communicated approximately 15 hours and 23 minutes after the payment, which was within the 24-hour period specified in the project quotation.
At the time of cancellation, I had clearly communicated that I was interested in proceeding with the other party because I had received a competitive quotation and had decided to move forward with them.
Truww did not provide a revised price-match quotation within the stipulated period. Instead, the revised quotation was provided only subsequently, after I had already communicated my cancellation and expressed my decision to proceed with the alternative vendor.
Furthermore, the subsequent revised Truww quotation does not actually constitute a price match or a like-for-like quotation.
The Homz Interio quotation had a final payable amount of ₹8,96,805.52, whereas the revised Truww quotation was ₹9,07,138, making the Truww quotation ₹10,332.48 higher.
There are also significant differences between the two quotations in material specifications, warranty, hardware and inclusions, including:
1. Core plywood specification: Homz specifies BWP plywood for the full house, whereas Truww's revised quotation specifies BWP for wet areas and MR plywood for dry areas, with MDF specified for dry-area backs.
2. Warranty: Homz specifies a 25-year warranty for BWP plywood, whereas Truww's revised quotation provides a 10-year modular woodwork warranty.
3. Shutter material: Homz specifies 18 mm HDHMR, whereas Truww specifies HDMR Pro. The Truww quotation does not establish that these are equivalent specifications.
4. Internal laminate: Homz specifies 0.8 mm internal laminate, whereas Truww specifies 0.72 mm.
5. Hardware: Homz provides a detailed Hettich/Ebco hardware package, whereas Truww's revised quotation contains a different/general hardware specification and states that certain soft-close hardware can be provided at additional cost.
6. Glass and mirrors: Certain glass/mirror components are specified within the Homz quotation, whereas Truww's quotation states that certain glass/mirror requirements are chargeable additionally.
7. False ceiling: Homz specifies Saint Gobain Gyproc 12.5 mm board, whereas the revised Truww quotation does not establish an equivalent manufacturer/thickness specification.
8. Commercial terms: Truww's revised quotation also contains provisions allowing the quoted amount to vary based on subsequent iterations and measurement changes.
Therefore, the subsequent Truww quotation cannot reasonably be treated as a timely or genuine like-for-like price match.
More importantly, the revised quotation was provided only after I had already exercised my cancellation request and after I had communicated my decision to move forward with the alternative vendor. By that stage, I had already secured the booking with the other party.
I have repeatedly requested cancellation and refund from Truww. Despite several follow-ups, Truww has not processed my refund and has instead continued to attempt to retain the booking by offering to match the price at a later stage.
I have clearly communicated that I do not wish to proceed with Truww and do not wish to engage in any further price negotiation or price-matching exercise.
I have not received any materials from Truww, nor have any production, installation or execution services been provided to me to date.
I have also experienced significant delays in communication during the refund process, including delayed responses and repeated follow-ups required from my side.
I therefore request the National Consumer Helpline to take up this grievance with Truww and facilitate the following:
1. Full refund of my ₹50,000 token advance.
2. Formal cancellation and closure of my Truww booking/project without any deduction.
3. Appropriate compensation, if considered applicable, for the inconvenience and repeated follow-up caused by the prolonged refusal/delay in processing the refund.
4. Appropriate costs incurred in pursuing the grievance, if applicable.
I am attaching the payment proof, original Truww quotation containing the cancellation/refund provision, competitor quotation, cancellation communication, WhatsApp correspondence, revised Truww quotation and subsequent refund communications.
I request that this grievance be taken up with Truww and that the company be requested to process my full refund.
I remain willing to resolve this matter amicably through the National Consumer Helpline. If the matter remains unresolved, I reserve my right to approach the appropriate Consumer Commission and seek appropriate consumer redressal.
Below is the Chronology_of_Events in short.
Respected NCH Officer, I humbly request your intervention to help me recover my hard-earned ₹50,000. I cancelled the service within the stipulated period, yet despite repeated requests and supporting evidence, the amount has not been refunded. I request your kind assistance in securing my legitimate refund and taking appropriate action against such unfair consumer practices.
Thank you,
Best Regards
