I am publicly escalating my concern regarding Shine.com’s unethical and exploitative payment practices.
Initially, I was informed by Shine.com’s representatives that I only needed to activate a booster service worth INR 3,600. However, over time, I was repeatedly pressured into making additional payments, with assurances that these were “mandatory” or “final” steps. This gradually escalated to almost INR 20,000, which I paid in good faith.
Shockingly, even after this, I was again asked to pay another INR 14,000.
As a middle-class girl, it is financially distressing and unacceptable to be pushed into spending such huge amounts under misleading guidance. I trusted the brand and its representatives, but this continuous upselling feels like exploitation rather than support.
I made the latest payment just a few hours ago, and upon realizing the pattern, I immediately requested a full refund. However, there has been no accountability or confirmation from Shine.com so far.
I am now forced to escalate this matter publicly because:
The costs were not transparently disclosed upfront
Payments were incrementally increased
Refund responsibility is being avoided
I request Shine.com to take immediate responsibility and refund the entire amount paid.
If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will be compelled to escalate this further through consumer grievance forums and legal channels.
